Held every 5 years, the Congrès mondial acadien (World Acadian Congress), is an event which brings together Acadians from around the world to celebrate their common cultural heritage. Much more than a summer festival, this international convention is a meeting place for today’s Acadian communities. It’s an extraordinary gathering of over 50,000 visitors who feel a deep connection to history and those in the Acadian diaspora who were dispersed around the world after the 1755 Expulsion.
